The Kenosha Comets were one of the first four teams in the league's history

Two of the first players to be assigned to a team were Shirley Jamison and Ann Harnett.

They both had been models for the team uniforms and excellent ball players. Jamison played third base for the Comets and led the league in stolen bases and runs scored in 1943, and was a member of the first All Star Team.
